Basketball Wives is an American reality television series that premiered April 11, 2010 on VH1. It chronicles the lives of a group of women who have all been somehow romantically linked to professional basketball players. Despite “Wives” in the title, some of the women aren’t married. The show is filmed in Miami, Florida, and beginning with season four, partially in New York City.

Basketball Wives spawned a Los Angeles-based spinoff, Basketball Wives LA, that premiered in 2011, featuring former cast member Gloria Govan. Ev and Ocho was to be the second spinoff to Basketball Wives but never aired due to Chad Johnson being arrested in August 2012 on a domestic violence charge for assaulting Evelyn Lozada.
