Captain Planet and the Planeteers is an American animated environmentalist television program created by Ted Turner, Robert Larkin III, and Barbara Pyle, produced by Pyle, Nicholas Boxer, Andy Heyward and Robby London, and developed by Pyle, Boxer, Heyward, London, Thom Beers, Bob Forward, Phil Harnage and Cassandra Schafhausen. The series was produced by Turner Program Services and DIC Entertainment and it was broadcast on TBS from September 15, 1990 to December 5, 1992. A sequel series, The New Adventures of Captain Planet, was produced by Hanna-Barbera and Turner Program Services, and was broadcast from September 11, 1993 to May 11, 1996. Both series continue today in syndication. The program is a form of edutainment and advocates environmentalism.

In February 2009, Mother Nature Network began airing episodes and unreleased footage of Captain Planet and the Planeteers on its website. Unfabulous is an American children’s television series that aired on Nickelodeon. The series is about an “unfabulous” 7th Grade middle school student named Addie Singer, played by Emma Roberts. The show, which debuted in late summer 2004, was one of the most-watched programs in the United States among children between the age of 10 and 16 and was created by Sue Rose, who previously created the animated series Pepper Ann and Angela Anaconda.

The series ended on December 16, 2007, with the third season being the last.

A former DEA agent forced into early retirement runs a gift shop in in the Philippines. The transition from being a feared and respected gangster in New York, to become an unemployed immigrant in Norway, is not simple. Frank discovers that to get up and in the Norwegian rural society, he must resort to the old, ruthless methods.

The spelling of the series title alludes to Tagliano’s dog Lily, and the way that Frank and some other anglophones pronounce the town’s name.
