The illiterate General of Canton, General So, advocates a lazy, happy lifestyle of sex and money. His spoiled and also illiterate son, Chan (Stephen Chow), is his most faithful disciple. Beauty and the Beast is the adaptation of a story by Madame de Villeneuve. Published anonymously in 1740 as La Jeune Américaine et les contes marins, it paints a portrait of Belle, a joyful and touching young girl who falls in love with the Beast, a cursed creature in search of love and redemption. Career woman finds out that her boyfriend is living a secret double life. She finds a bag of money and decides to make a run for it. She is accompanied by a little girl who is also on a run from her criminal step-father. Together they’re trying to make it to her grandmothers house.

A headmaster and his wife return home to find one of their doors to have part of a window pane neatly cut. Looking through the house for whatever might be missing, they find a young man sitting in one of their rooms, and the phone isn’t working. The man’s behaviour is strange, but polite. He says he’s arrived from Australia and was friends there with an old friend of the headmaster. He proves to have a lot of personal knowledge about the family, so his story seems to be true. However, he definitely has a dark side, doing over-the-top “practical jokes,” producing a gun, engaging in a particularly bloody boxing match. (IMDB)
