Coupling is a British television sitcom written by Steven Moffat that aired on BBC2 from May 2000 to June 2004. Produced by Hartswood Films for the BBC, the show centres on the dating and sexual adventures and mishaps of six friends in their thirties, often depicting the three women and the three men each talking among themselves about the same events, but in entirely different terms.

The series was inspired by Moffat’s relationship with producer Sue Vertue, to the extent that they gave their names to two of the characters. Coupling is an example of the “group-genre”, an ensemble show that had proven popular at the time. Critics compared the show to the American sitcoms Friends and Seinfeld.

The critical reaction was largely positive, and the show was named “Best TV Comedy” at the 2003 British Comedy Awards. The show debuted to unimpressive ratings, but its popularity soon increased and by the end of the third series the show had achieved decent ratings in the UK. The series began airing on PBS stations and on BBC America in the United States in late 2002 and quickly gained a devoted fanbase there as well. The show is syndicated around the world. Short-lived American and Greek adaptations were briefly produced in 2003 and 2007 respectively.

Petticoat Junction is an American situation comedy. The series is one of three interrelated shows about rural characters created by Paul Henning. The characters “seem” to go to Hooterville for some goods and services, including high school and the hospital, but prefer Pixley for supermarket shopping, beauty parlors, and movies.

The petticoat of the title is an old-fashioned garment once worn under a woman’s skirt. The opening titles of the series featured a display of petticoats hanging on the side of the railway’s water tower where the three originally teenage daughters are apparently bathing in the nude or skinny-dipping. In fact, the show’s opening theme contains a hint of sexual innuendo in the line, “Lotsa curves, you bet, and even more when you get to the Junction.” This is an obvious double entendre referring to both the train tracks and the Bradley daughters. However, as Linda Kaye states on the official season one DVD set, the name of the town Hooterville was not a reference to the slang term “hooters” meaning breasts, because that term was unheard of in the 1960s.

Sterling Archer is the world’s most daunting spy. He works for ISIS, a spy agency run by his mother. In between dealing with his boss and his co-workers – one of whom is his ex-girlfriend – Archer manages to annoy or seduce everyone that crosses his path. His antics are only excusable because at the end of the day, he still somehow always manages to thwart whatever crises was threatening mankind.

Little Mosque on the Prairie is a Canadian sitcom that aired on CBC, created by Zarqa Nawaz and produced by WestWind Pictures. It was filmed in Toronto, Ontario and Indian Head, Saskatchewan. The series was selected and showcased at the 2009 Dawn Breakers International Film Festival in Zurich.

On April 2, 2012, the series finale to Little Mosque on the Prairie aired on the CBC. In May 2012, Hulu announced it would begin airing the series under the name Little Mosque in summer 2012. The series will make its U.S. syndication debut on Pivot beginning in August 2013.
